Recut
Terms of Service
Last updated 31 October 2026
These terms cover your use of Recut at recut.ashvattech.com. By using Recut you agree to them. Recut is an open-source project released under the MIT License; these terms are about the hosted app.
Using Recut
Recut helps you find short clips in your own long-form audio and video and write captions for social platforms. Use it only with content you own or have the right to use, and follow the rules of the platforms you post to. Don't use Recut to break the law, infringe others' rights, or overload or misuse the service, including the shared AI key.
Your content
You keep all rights to what you upload and create. Recut stores your projects in your own browser; see the Privacy Policy for how media is processed. You're responsible for keeping your own copies.
AI-generated output
Clip picks, captions, schedules and rewrites are generated by AI and can be wrong or incomplete. Review everything before you publish it. You are responsible for what you post.
Third-party services
Recut uses Groq for transcription and AI, and optionally Google Calendar, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and YouTube when you choose to connect or post. Those services have their own terms, which apply to your use of them.
Fair use and availability
The shared AI key is free to use within fair-use limits; you can add your own free Groq key in Settings for more. Recut is provided as is, without warranties, and may change or be unavailable at times.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Recut and its contributors aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Questions: open an issue at github.com/Ultranmus/recut/issues.
